18.1" LCD Monitor that is No Pushover!

Process control and project engineers sparring with the old order of display technology can look forward to a major advance in the displays arena. Setting a new standard for rugged, industrial grade LCD displays that can withstand the rigours of the Process Control market is the new 18.1" TFT LCD desktop monitor from Kent Modular Electronics Ltd.

These monitors are SXGA (1280 x 1024 pixels) compatible but will autosize any input frequency down to VGA (640 x 480 pixels). They are housed in a strong, metal desktop style cabinet that is lightweight but designed to withstand a 1.6 Kg pushover force. This is achieved partly by the design of the case but also by mounting the power supply in the base of the unit and incorporating a premium quality industrial clamping mechanism at the rear of the screen. All of these features combine to making it perfect for use in the process control environment and, when appropriate, for use with a touch screen.

A high brightness, long life TFT panel is used to ensure optimum visibility at all ambient light levels and it is protected by laminated safety glass. The monitor has front mounted controls, an advanced on-screen set-up display and is available with either a standard VGA or a VGA and PAL/NTSC inputs.

The internal control board of both models affords a direct connection to a PC via the VGA input. In the case of the VGA and PAL/NTSC version the monitor is able to accept the input of two signals simultaneously (e.g. an input from a computer and a Camera or VCR). The monitor can be set to switch automatically between sources on a priority basis showing for example XGA if no PAL signal is present. Both models are available with an optional touchscreen and are offered with a fast delivery lead-time.
