Case Study
KME recently completed a project supplying two DO-160 airworthy displays for a UK Naval helicopter. We were approached for a legacy upgrade program to provide a 24” and a 12” display along with a DVI (Digital Visual Interface) control box.
Given the program's nature, we initiated a documentation framework to guide all design activities and decisions. The project spanned approximately 12 months and involved custom software development.
KME assembled a dedicated team to closely collaborate with our customers, ensuring joint satisfaction of airworthiness requirements per DO-160 and Def-Stans specifications.
This project presented various challenges at different stages. Our customer collaborated closely with the aircraft manufacturer, leading to modifications to one of the displays 14 times during the design phases. This highlighted the effectiveness of our teamwork.
