Case Study: Weapons System Display for the British Navy
KME was engaged to provide a weapons system display for use on the exterior deck of a British Navy Destroyer. This project included several unique components, making it a highly customised engineering endeavour.
The primary challenges of our Royal Navy surface fleet project were meeting all environmental requirements and integrating a software overlay. KME's experienced software team developed a safety-critical adjustable reticle overlay, managed on an FPGA within the device.
To meet the tight preliminary design review deadline, our team conducted concurrent hardware and software development activities. This collaboration ensured the safety case sign-off, and the delivery of the full data pack and qualification certificates within the agreed timeline.
